Our mission is to provide safe transitional housing, life skills education, and supportive services that empower pregnant and parenting young mothers to build stable, independent futures for themselves and their children.
Our Launch
Urban Angels is preparing to launch a transitional maternity housing program in Detroit for pregnant and parenting young mothers ages 16–22. We are building the funding, partnerships, and resources needed to provide safe housing and support for lasting independence.
Our residential program is currently in development and is not yet accepting residents.

Our Planned Program
Our planned Detroit maternity home will serve up to six young mothers ages 16–22 and their children. Residents will have the opportunity to stay approximately 12–18 months while working toward their education, employment, parenting, and independent housing goals.
Planned services include:
• Safe transitional housing with 24-hour supervision
• Parenting education and infant-care guidance
• Individualized case management
• Financial literacy and budgeting
• Job readiness and employment support
• School, GED, and educational support
• Transportation assistance
• Life skills and preparation for independent living
Program enrollment and services will begin after the home, staffing, funding, and required approvals are in place.

Urban Angels Housing and Development Center is a Michigan nonprofit corporation incorporated in 2021 and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
We are working to establish our first transitional maternity home in Detroit—a place where young mothers can find stability, develop practical skills, and prepare for independent living while caring for their children.
Our current priorities are securing a suitable property, raising startup funding, building community partnerships, and recruiting volunteers. Every contribution of time, resources, or financial support helps move this home closer to opening.
